The walkway resembles a road, with the yellow dashed line in the center. This is a code well known to most people if not everyone who is at least 16 or 18 years old. Its use at a college campus is effective because very rarely would there be someone there who cannot decipher it. For these reasons, we have deemed it a successful form of technical communication.

On a side note, if that had been implemented on a day care or kindergarten, it would not have been as useful with directing the traffic of pedestrians as most children are not yet familiar with these codes.
