Title
C172 Communications & Navigation Stack
Description
This photo shows four crucial pieces of electronics that pilots use during flight. The first system, found at the top, enables pilots to select specific radios to turn on or off and also adjust the volume of those radios. The second system is a GPS. The black rectangle is actually the screen and it would show a moving map, in color, based on the position of the aircraft. The next system is a basic Bendix / King radio stack. It enables pilots to select specific frequencies to be used either for communication or navigation via VORs. The final system is a mode-c transponder. This piece of electronics sends information to air traffic controllers such as a specific identification code and altitude.
